It is reported that the project is positioned as a national regional medical center and a tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital. The total construction land area of the project is about 215 acres, with a total investment of 1.25 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed and put into operation by 2025. The construction of Zishanhu People’s Hospital (with a building area of 44000 square meters) within the project site is included in the overall design of this project and is being promoted as a whole; The newly built building covers an area of 83000 square meters, including a medical comprehensive building, an infection building, and auxiliary rooms, with a planned capacity of 1000 beds and 2002 parking spaces.

This project is jointly built by the Xianning Municipal Government and Tongji Hospital, with Tongji Hospital as the output hospital and Xianning Central Hospital as the supporting hospital. It is planned to be a “strong specialty, small comprehensive” national regional medical center with six major specialties including cardiology, vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, and emergency critical care, featuring the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and trauma. Tongji Hospital is fully responsible for overall operation and management, and has become a branch of Tongji Hospital.

The project will enhance the overall medical diagnosis and treatment capabilities of Xianning City, reduce cross provincial and cross regional medical treatment, and radiate to the adjacent areas of Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi, vigorously promoting the high-quality development of Xianning City’s big health industry and medical and health undertakings.
