10 Reasons for Vinyl Flooring Bulges

The bulging problem of Vinyl sheet flooring rolls is currently the most common problem in the construction and use of Vinyl flooring It may be a flooring quality issue.  Or a ground foundation; Selection of auxiliary materials; Climate and temperature during construction; Construction process and details; Problems that arise during the usage process.

Lay the intact new sheet vinyl floor flat on a flat, smooth, clean, and dry surface (without scraping glue); The ambient temperature should be maintained between 20 ℃ and 38 ℃, and the relative humidity of the air should not exceed 75%; More than 24 hours of time If there is a problem in flooring, and this is the flooring quality problem.

Other than the flooring quality, it might be 10 of the reasons below:

  1. The foundation ground is not completely dry

The basic ground should be dry and have a moisture content of ≤ 3% – otherwise, both the self leveling and the floor are very likely to bulge.

  1. Self leveling not fully dried

Online circulating: Self leveling usually takes 24-48 hours to dry before PVC flooring can be laid – this is unrealistic and irresponsible – self leveling must be completely dry (moisture content ≤ 3%); If the self leveling is not completely dry, PVC flooring will inevitably bulge in the future.

  1. Severe self leveling and ash accumulation

Due to issues with the foundation ground; Or self leveling quality issues; Or construction related issues; Or due to temperature, climate issues, etc., serious self leveling and dust accumulation may occur, ultimately resulting in PVC flooring not sticking to the ground at all.

  1. Incorrect selection of auxiliary materials

Auxiliary materials are crucial in the construction of PVC flooring – PVC flooring with different processes, specifications, and structures have different requirements for auxiliary materials; The requirements for auxiliary materials vary among different usage sites, construction sites and environments, seasons and climates – few people take this seriously.

For example, adhesive – a type of adhesive called “sheet adhesive” is now popular among Chinese people, and professionals refer to it as “stupid adhesive” – a leader in the field of PVC floor accessories and a rigorous German who “dare not call this…” adhesive “.

  1. Low temperature

The installation of PVC flooring must ensure a reasonable ambient temperature, which is generally required to be maintained between 20 ℃ and 35 ℃,; Construction must be carried out with caution below 15 ℃; Construction is prohibited below 5 ℃.

  1. High air humidity

The relative humidity of the air is required to be between 20% and 75%, and PVC flooring should not be installed if it exceeds 75%.

  1. Unreasonable glue drying time

Different adhesives, different floors, different floors, different environments, etc. – the drying time for glue varies – require the professional competence, experience accumulation, sense of responsibility, and professional competence of the paving master.

  1. Insufficient exhaust

The exhaust after PVC flooring installation needs to be timely, attentive, patient, forceful, meticulous, and comprehensive.

  1. Uncompacted

After the PVC floor is glued, it is generally required to fully press it with a pressure roller of at least 50 kg within about 2 hours; In special circumstances, more effective measures must also be taken.

  1. Welding too early

After PVC floor adhesive paving, it is generally required to weld after 24 hours – welding too early may cause the floor at the welding point to arch upwards.
